Fast Weight Loss Tips For Getting a Flat Belly by Summer

1.  No more old-school sit-ups. You will not achieve a flat belly by doing endless sit-ups.  This is an old theory that has been replaced with the new understanding that a full body workout is needed to burn body fat and flatten the stomach.

2.  No more slow steady cardio. Another theory whose time has come and gone is the theory that in order to lose fat you must spend an hour or two on the treadmill several times a week.  This theory has been replaced with a new approach to cardiovascular exercise which incorporates varying the intensity put forth during the workout.  By switching from a low intensity to a high and back again you get better fat burning results.

3.  What about carbohydrates? On the diet side of getting a flat belly you want your carbohydrates to have higher levels of fiber.  These carbs are more complex and slower to digest which benefits your weight loss efforts.  Get your carbs from fruit, vegetables and whole grains and look to eat foods with about 2 grams of fiber for every 10 grams of carbohydrate.

4.  Do not be afraid to eat fat. There are some fats that will actually aid your weight loss efforts.  Aim to include olive oil, avocados, nuts, seeds and fish oils in your diet and they will not only help you lose weight but also steady your mood and satisfy your hunger.

5.  Drink plenty of water. Water holds many benefits when it comes to weight loss.  It not only helps by giving you a sensation of being full it is also a necessary ingredient in fat break down.  And water can help prevent bloating.
