Everyday we are surrounded by mouth-watering temptations that prove very hard to resist. They can be easily found in parks, outside our office buildings, adjacent to our doorways, food courts in malls and in many other strategic places. In many developed and even developing countries, witnessing an unusual openness in the market system is very common. This is manifested by bold and glaring signs flashing a 24/7 operation and serves a very tempting foodstuffs. Hamburgers, fries, red meats, fried chickens and other condiments and confectionaries, just name it, they have it. As a result, we just munch everything that we could get a hold unto, not knowing the exposure we are subjecting our self into.
The favors given to us by food chains and other food stalls sometimes made us unaware of our own health. We seem oblivious to the fact that we already are starting to forget our own health. Due to our busy lifestyle, we just willingly let anything happen to our own body, including the danger of catching high blood pressure.
What Foods to Avoid
As what has being said, unhealthy foods are the most universal reasons why we tend to develop high blood pressure. We cannot avoid them if we do not have any idea at all what are these foods in the first place.
Here are the lists of foods that have no business being inside our body:
- Excess sodium or salt intake. Too much salt can trigger a surge in blood pressure and presence of this excess substance in our body for a long time is very unhealthy. Lowering salt or sodium consumption also lowers your chances of developing HBP. According to experts, salt content of any food is too much when you can already taste the presence of it. When eating in a food chain, you can request that your food be prepared salt-free. You can opt to add salt later. In this way, even if you are out dining, you can still stay safe.
- Quit smoking and minimize alcoholic beverages at once. Since our body needs alcohol also, one to two drinks is still tolerable. More than three drinks a day can already trigger high blood pressure. Avoid excessive alcohol intake as well as smoking. Nicotine and tar deposits cannot only damage your lungs but it can pose significant damage to your heart and arteries as well. Avoiding cigarette smoking is another great option in staying out of danger's way.
- Avoid saturated fats. These are the fats that can be found on our all time favorites, red meat, hamburgers, French fries, fried chickens, etc., that are insoluble inside our body. In other words it cannot be processed and excreted out by our body. As a result it just accumulates there inside, especially in our arteries, clogging them gradually, blocking a significant portion of it leaving small or no spaces at all for the blood to pass through.
Be very afraid of high blood pressure. Be sure to get rid of it. Avoiding foods that constitute to its development is the best option. Stay healthy and live longer without any worries.
