Every time you turn on your TV, there seems to be some new, 'miracle' product out. In fact it's easy to think that taking good care of the skin is frivolous, vain, or simply tedious.
Well, now it's time to think again, because the skin - especially your facial skin - is important not only to making yourself look good, but also to have confidence in yourself. And if you do have confidence, new doors of opportunities are likely to open up for you.
So, ready to refocus your beliefs about skincare? Let's take a look at what you can actively do then...
Common Skin Problems
One of the most common skin problems is acne. Fortunately, there are now a lot of acne skincare products available out there. One anti-acne skincare product may work for one person, whilst for another it may just aggravate the skin. That is because each person has unique skin constitution.
But do not lose hope entirely because there are common issues that can guide you to choosing the right products. Such factors include knowing the level of oil secretion of your skin, meaning - is your face dry, or is it oily, or is it just normal.
You can also be guided by the roughness and smoothness of your skin. As for the question of skincare remedies reacting unpleasantly, it is best to have that checked out by a doctor.
Another skin problem that many, perhaps a little older, people are now paying attention to is the wrinkles. That is why along with acne treatments flooding the market you can also see a sizable number of anti-aging skincare products.
People, mostly women, do not want those wrinkles creeping in on them. And fortunately there are products that work to minimize wrinkles. Also, it's good to know that there are products that can be used early on to avoid the wrinkles from showing early.
Again, such wrinkle skincare products are subjective in terms of potency. Consulting skincare professionals about it could really help you a lot.
Going Natural with Your Skincare Treatments
So, taking care of your skin is important, but if you apply too many chemical skincare products to it, you might just end up making matters worse. Some skins can be rather sensitive and the use of artificial, often chemical-based products can really be quite damaging. So what is the right thing to do?
The answer to that is to use natural skincare treatments. Products that have all natural ingredients.
By natural ingredients, this means that the skin care item must contain oils and essences of beneficial plants, flowers, and other gifts of nature. Often organic skincare really does work and is a much better choice.
Take note that the appropriate use of skincare products is important and you must also take good care of your skin. Teenage skincare for example requires careful attention, as young skin may be overly sensitive to harmful chemicals.
So as much as possible, discourage the use of strong cosmetics on young skin. If you can utilize preventative skincare measures, before skin problems become so severe, it will be well worth the effort.

Help for horror-story spa visit!
By: MoneyPenny | 19-11-2007
About a month ago I got a "facial" from a local spa and was surprised at the outcome. The woman was very rough on my skin, I think I had an allergic reaction to the cremes (or whatever she used) on my skin and the "extracting" device was the worst experience I have EVER HAD in my lifetime. My face is still red, it is completely broken out and it feels itchy and "sore underneath". I have no medical to go to a Dermotologist but know that this is serious...this is the first time I have ever had such terrible skin in my life and need some help...quickly! I have used Aloe Vera to sooth the skin, benzoyl perioxide (which hurts)to clear the pimples, a clay mask, and a heated soothing mask...nothing works. Can you please suggest something. I have gone crazy looking at my skin and am saddened because it is very damaged, I think.
How can I treat dry skin and scabs on my scalp?
By: Jackyp | 19-11-2007
Ever since the weather began to get colder my skin has gotten very dry and I have developed some dry scabs on my scalp that get itchy and cause dandruff. This has never happened to me in the past and I am not sure what to do. I tried conditioning my scalp with oil but it just made my hairline break out with acne. I know it must have something to do with the weather but should I be worried that it is something more serious? Are there any possible treatments that I should look into?

I am having a hard time finding a pair of high waisted pants that are not too expensive. I know they can be so flattering if you find the right kind. I heard that Gwen Stefani's clothing line L.A.M.B carries some nice ones but aren't they really expensive? Does anyone have any suggestions?
