Heart disease is known as the ‘widow maker.’ There is some truth to this. Young men do have more heart attacks than younger women. Poor diet and smoking among its chief causes. Fewer men are smoking and their diet has generally improved as treatments for heart disease have advanced.
Chest or arm pain or discomfort can be a symptom of heart disease and a warning sign of a heart attack. Shortness of breath (feeling like you can’t get enough air), dizziness, nausea (feeling sick to your stomach), abnormal heartbeats, or feeling very tired also are signs. In addition, women often present with milder symptoms like unusual fatigue, shortness of breath and only mild “chest discomfort”, but these symptoms are not to be taken lightly and deserve prompt attention.

Stress alone can cause a heart attack. It also contributes to heart disease by creating inflammation, raising your cholesterol and blood sugar, causing high blood pressure and increasing blood clotting.
