In the world most of the people are non vegetarians. Nowadays however, there are many who are taking to the vegetarian ways, thanks to the booming awareness of the people regarding health. Even in the western countries where people are primarily non vegetarians the trend of going the green way is picking up. But even today the ratio between the vegetarians and the non vegetarians is very unstable dipping heavily on the side of the non vegetarians.
Non vegetarian food apart from all the ethics attached with it, if had in an unwarranted manner can bring in various ill effects. Especially the people in the western countries live heavily on the red meat and processed meat. Heavy consumption of this kind of food is not at all congenial to health. More so when people have more than one serving of such food per day. Consumption of this kind of meat frequently, apart from adding fats, that seems to be the obvious consequence, also unsettles the metabolism of the concerned person.
The rate of metabolism is not only disturbed by the consumption of meat, but also by what we commonly term as fast food or junk food. This piece of news actually gave me quite a shake. Because I am an ardent follower of both these habits and inspite of all the titters regarding my bulging waist line I am still hooked to it! The disturbance in metabolism is also responsible for weight gain especially in those people who are the worshippers of junk food and can't slip in a morsel without the taste of meat! Metabolism is necessary in order to break down the food that we have into particles that can be absorbed by the body for the energy and health of the body.
The disturbance of the metabolic system resulting from the over consumption of the above mentioned items is known as the metabolism syndrome. This syndrome is as high as 25% in the people having junk food and red meat.
Now here is something interesting for all you meat eaters. It has been found that the consumption of dairy products can minimize the risks of metabolism syndrome. The metabolism syndrome can be tackled if a person has an appropriate amount of dairy products. Appropriate, because I don't think you are a stranger to the fact that dairy products like cheese, butter and cream are dead giveaways to fat and hence weight gain.
As far as weight loss is concerned, today people prefer to opt out of the sweating and fretting ways by opting for short cuts like the xenical weight loss.
