How Can I Lose Fat Around My Belly? - Tips to Get Started Fast

1.  Do not lower your calories too severely. Yes, it is tempting to try and lose all of the belly fat at once with starvation dieting but this will only serve to slow your metabolism and your progress.  Women should never drop calories below 1,000 per day and men never below 1,600 per day.

2. Rearrange your carbs but don't eliminate them. Diets that eliminates carbs cause your body to signal carb cravings. A way around this yet still allowing you to get the fast benefits of a low-carb diet is to rearrange the time of day you eat them. Aim to eat all carbs such as breads, cereals, pasta, rice, corn and potatoes by lunch and then don't eat them in the afternoon or evening, instead fill up on high-fiber vegetables and lean meats.

3. Calories from your drinks should be limited. Sugary soda pop and other sugar filled drinks can put the breaks on your ability to lose fat around your belly. This includes fruit juices which are not as filling as the whole fruit and easier to consume large quantities. Calories from drinks do not satisfy your hunger and are calorie packed making fat loss hard.

4. Stop eating processed and packaged foods. The number one enemy to losing fat around your belly is eating processed foods. These foods contain refined carbohydrates, sugar and hydrogenated oils. Check your labels, if the food contains these ingredients do not eat it. You will find that many packaged foods contain these ingredients.

5. Keep your focus on the prize. Losing fat around your belly is not only desirable for your appearance but also for your health. This is a goal that takes commitment and dedication but it can be done if you keep a positive mindset.  When you hit a difficult time shift your focus to all the good things this change is bringing into your life.
