Chris Haycock is an information publisher, who has had experience of recurrent yeast infections within his own family. OK, so what's the major cause of yeast infections? Hah, easy, you say, that's yeast in the body. Well, no actually. Many people will be unaware that yeast is in fact an extremely common organism, as is all around us everywhere we go.
As human beings, yeast is to be found in a high proportion of us naturally at all times. This is perfectly normal and usually harmless. It actually provides us with benefits that are not obtainable elsewhere in nature. For those of us that do not suffer with yeast infections it is because we also have naturally occuring "good" bacteria present in our bodies at all times also. This keeps the yeast at a level where it does no harm.
Problems begin to arise when the natural balance of our bodies is disturbed to the point where our "good" bacteria are reduced to an extent which enables the yeast to grow to that point where it does become a problem, and we get a yeast infection. Usually, as most of us are aware, in the most embarrassing, awkward places.
Now, in order for us to deal with, and overcome, this infection in a natural way we have to somehow regain our body's natural state of balance. We need to encourage the regrowth of our "good" bacteria so it is not outgunned by the yeast.
There are lots of ways that this can be done, but we need to be aware of just why our friendly bacteria are having a problem with maintaining sufficient presence in us, and the reasons can be varied.
One very common reason is the current vogue for the medical profession to prescribe antibiotics for us for the most trivial complaint. Of course antibiotics are a wonderful tool in the doctors bag of tricks, but they are indiscriminate in their action. They effectively kill all bacteria, and this of course includes the useful, necessary bacteria in our bodies, and this leaves us at the mercy of yeast infections.
So, apart from restricting your intake of antibiotics unless absolutely necessary, and then only for as long as necessary, what can we do? Well, three very simple things can help enormously. Diet is very important, eliminate as much sugar as possible from your daily food intake, and try to eat as much raw food as possible. Make sure you drink plenty of water, most of us don't, and most of us are dehydrated for most of the time. Don't wait until you are thirsty to drink. Thirst is in fact a very bad indicator of your body's need for water. By the time you feel thirsty you are already mildly dehydrated. Also exercise frequently, at least daily for at least thirty minutes. Enough exercise to raise your heartrate and make you out of breath.
What does exercise do for your yeast infection? It actually helps to balance your body, and obviously keep it healthy and balanced. We are designed to be physically active, and that is what we should be. Many of our modern day ills, including yeast infections, can be directly attributed to lack of sufficient exercise.
It doesn't matter at all what type of exercise you choose. Try walking instead of using the car for short journeys, or cycling if you need to go furthur. Swimming is great, so is practically any sporting activity. Take something up, kick a ball around with the kids in the yard, shoot a few baskets, anything you like. Not only will you be beating your yeast infection. You will be generally fitter, healthier, and feel better about yourself, and less prone to any other ills.
