There are many ways to have a colon detox. However, we need to keep our colon clean in the long run instead of just temporarily. Some people go on a temporary colon detox and then go back to their old ways. The best thing to do is to stay on a natural colon detox. This article will show you the natural ways of cleansing your colon.

First of all, you need to have a good diet. We don't actually realize how much junk we eat. For instance, many foods these days contain preservatives, which aren't really a benefit to our health. All this junk can accumulate and cause us to feel sick.

You need to simply eat more healthy food and less unhealthy food. Eat more fruits, vegetables and grains and avoid eating refined foods for a start. Once you change your eating habits you'll start to feel much better. A lot of the healthy foods contain lots of nutrients as well as fiber. Fiber is important because it keeps our bowels moving during the day and naturally flushes out toxins.

You may completely eliminate dairy products from your diet. Eat twice as many vegetables as you would have in your usual diet. Eat only a matchbox-size piece of meat each time while eating more complex carbohydrates like wheat bread and whole grain cereal. Eat a piece of fruit as a snack throughout the day. These are just some suggestions and you might want to speak with your doctor about them.

Secondly, drink enough water everyday. Water flushes out toxins just as when you wash your hands. It can loosen hardened stools and flush them out of your body faster. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water is recommended each day for a natural colon detox.

With a simple change in diet, you'll no longer feel constipated, abdominal pain, rectal pain and bloating. Furthermore, you may even experience less headaches and backaches. A natural colon detox can help more than just the physical. It can fight against fatigue and depression caused by symptoms of an unhealthy bowel and being overweight.

Believe it or not, exercise can also act as a natural colon detox. The obvious health benefit exercise provides is the maintenance of a healthy weight. But exercise literally moves your bowels so that toxins are passed through them in a more efficient manner.

You may try out yoga techniques as a natural colon detox. Some yoga poses naturally use gravity to encourage healthy bowel movement. Furthermore, the breathing techniques incorporated in yoga naturally coaxes your bowels to move. You may buy a DVD on basic yoga or join classes.

You may also try jump rope exercises. Jumping up and down is said to tighten the organs such as the intestines. It also strengthens the lower abdomen. At least 10 minutes of doing jump rope exercises can maintain bowel health.

Another simple exercise that acts a natural colon detox is crunching. Doing crunches every now and then stimulates the bowel and prevent constipation. It can actually draw blood to the areas in the abdomen and therefore promote good circulation and healing.

Going on a natural colon detox means less side effects, bowel dependency and expenses. It also means you get to maintain a healthy body in the long run instead of just temporarily. You may add some extra natural supplements to help quicken the process.
