Today people are eating unhealthier and are in worse shape then ever before, and the average age for people having a myocardial infarction is dropping fast. Here are some things to help avoid a heart attack. There are many things a person can do and avoid to lower the risk of having an early myocardial infarction.
What you Eat:
The things you eat make a big difference in your health. If a person eats lots of vegetables, fish and chicken which are healthy foods if prepared right they will have less of a chance of a heart attack then someone who is constantly eating fried foods, fatty foods, sweets and salty snacks. These types of foods are bad for the arteries and the body in general. They not only help to clog the arteries but also help to build fat in the body with puts pressure on your cardiovascular system raising your blood pressure an making your heart work harder to pump the life giving blood thru your body.
Exercise:
More and more people find themselves working in offices these days, and it is common for office workers to site in their cubicles snacking throughout the workday. It is very important to balance this with proper exercise. Belonging to a gym is not enough to help you stay healthy. It is important that after you join the gym you actually show up even if it is only twice a week as long as u get a good workout. To help avoid a heart attack and stay in good shape it is important to do a good cardiovascular workout. There are many ways to do this. Most gyms offer aerobic classes as well as having exercise bicycles and treat mills that also allow for a good workout. If a gym if out of your price range there are still things you can do. Renting an aerobics workout DVD at your local video store or just go for a nice walk every evening before going to bed are two great inexpensive ways to get a good workout. When working out you should push yourself at a pace that makes you sweat and raises your pulse but no to the point you can no longer maintain a conversation.
Drugs, Cigarettes and Booze:
Everyone has a vice or two in their life. Some people have to have something sweet every day or whatever it may be, but smoking Cigarette, dinking alcohol and getting high on drugs increases your chances of having a heart attack by ten times. These vices put such stress on the heart as well as put thinks into your blood that makes it more likely to clot and cause a heart attack or even a stroke. Drugs like coke, crake and even pot smoking raises your heart rate and blood pressure. This causes your heart to work harder then it should and can weaken your heart to the point where you cant get out of bed and have to live the rest of your life hooked up to machines that have to pump your blood for you while you wait on a list for a heart transplant. This does not mean you can never drink or smoke the occasional grass, but if you want to keep healthy you must avoid had drugs and over indulgence of Alcohol.
It is important that people start putting more consideration into their lifestyles if they want to make it to old age.
