Is Your Bodies pH in Balance?

Water makes up about 70% of all our bodies. The rest of your body is made up of other solutions. The Potential of Hydrogen, or the pH, measures the amount of acidity or alkalinity in those solutions (the hydrogen ion concentration). The more alkaline and oxygen rich the body solution is the higher the pH is. A lower pH reading has a more acidic and oxygen deprived solution. The scale for pH range is 0 to 14 and 7.0 is the neutral medium. Above 7.0 is alkaline and below is acidity. Our bodies are slightly alkaline, about 7.35 to 7.45. if the pH balances changes to above 7.8 or below 6.8 the body will stop functioning.

A diet that doesn't have balance and is high in acidic foods will cause the bodies regulating system to maintain a neutrality. Some acidic foods are animal protein, caffeine, sugar, and processed foods. This can cause the body to deplete its alkaline minerals. Thesse minerals are potassium, sodium, magnesium, and calcium. This will cause the body to be prone to disease. Barrowed minerals from the bodies organs and bones control the acid and remove it from the body. A well balanced pH can allow a proper metabolism and will help fight off disease. having a body that has too much alkaline can be just as dangerous, it tends to take longer for a person who is alkaline to balance than someone who is acidic.

Some foods that have high Acidity are blueberries, cranberries, prunes, peanuts, walnuts, beef, pork, shellfish, cheese, milk, ice cream, chocolate, beer and many soft drinks. Some foods that are acidic but in low amounts and safe are honey, molasses, plums, processed fruit juices, cooked spinach, kidney beans, string beans, sunflower seed , corn oil, wheat bread, venison, cold water fish, eggs, yogurt, butter, buttermilk, cottage cheese, and tea. Replacing high acid foods with the low acid foods will help to prevent having an acidic body.

Some foods that are high in alkaline are lemons, watermelon, limes, grapefruit, mangos, papayas, asparagus, onions, parsley, raw spinach, broccoli, garlic, and olive oil. Some foods that have a lower alkalinity are raw sugar, oranges, bananas, cherries, pineapples, carrots, tomatoes, mushrooms, cabbage, peas, potatoes skins, olives, soybeans and tofu, goat milk, soy milk, soy cheese, and whey. Replacing some of the more high alkaline foods with the lower alkaline foods will help against having a body that has to much alkalinity.

Testing your pH will help you to know whether or not you have anything to worry about. You can use pH test stripes to do this. If your urine is between 6.0 and 6.5 in the morning and between 6.5 and 7.0 in the evening then it is normal. If you do a saliva test then your range should be between 6.5 and 7.5. About one hour before a meal or about 2 hours after a meal are the best times to test your pH. And its recommended that a person should test there pH about two times a week.

Acidosis is when the body is to acidic. Mild acidosis can even cause cardiovascular damage, weight gain, obesity, and diabetes. It can also cause bladder and kidney conditions. Immunity deficiency and acceleration of the by product damage maybe even causing cancerous cell mutations. Premature aging, weak brittle bones, hip fractures, and bone spurs are more symptoms. Also joint pain aching muscles and lactic acid build up, lower energy levels and chronic fatigue too.

So if you acidic after you test you should take enzymes. You can get over the counter capsules and take 1- 2 with every meal. Make sure your getting the correct amount of calcium. Try coral calcium, this can be found along with other pH balancing products at Alternative Health Supplements. You can also try taking alkaline minerals and vitamins A and D. they help hold calcium in the body. There is also cleansing supplements that are available as well.

And if you are to alkaline you should also take enzyme capsules, and take calcium. Take vitamin C at maximum intake or to max bowel tolerance. Flaxseed oil will also help to lower alkaline. There are also cleanses available for lower alkaline as well. A lot of the treatments are the same for both acidic and alkaline problems.
