The actual function of vomiting is to remove toxic or harmful substances from the body after ingestion. However, vomiting is multifactorial in origin and can be caused due to various reasons. Retching is the sustained contraction of the chest and abdominal muscles that accompanies before or during vomiting.
The tips that follow are designed to reduce your discomfort and help relieve your symptoms as quickly as possible. If vomiting is violent or persists for more than 24 hours or if your vomit contains blood or looks like coffee grounds, see a physician without delay.

Low Blood Sugar and Excessive Menstrual Bleeding results in vomiting
By: NebraskaIngrid | 20-07-2008
I am a 47 year old female. For the past 6 months, my periods have gotten much heavier...resulting in excessive blood loss in a short amount of time. In additon, my borderline hypoglycemia has gotten worse. Yesterday, (on the last day of my period) I became dizzy, my eyesight was affected, and I vomited. I know that low blood sugar can cause dizziness, confusion, low grade headaches, aggitation and can affect eyesight. But vomiting? That's a new one to me. I checked my temperature. It was 97 degrees (normal for me). I wonder if the extreme loss of blood due to my period has exaggerated my low blood sugar. Just a guess.

Dosage for namenda
By: Peter | 16-07-2008
husband has been put on Namenda 5 mg P.O. BID - has dimentia, currently taking aricept 10 mg per day - Dr advised adding the namenda to his aricept to help with the dimentia. I am reading that the dosing instrctions from the internet stating 5 mg tab every day for one week, followed by 5 mg morning and one at night the second week, then 10 mg every morning then 5 mg tab night for the third week, 10 mg tab every morning and night for the 4th week and afterwards - yet prescription given to us yesterday states 5 mg P.O. BID with (#60 tabliets) meaning we get 60 tabs each month. My question is as follows - with the sixty @ 5 mg each tab does that mean he will take 2 tabs each day which would equate to 60 tabs - I am confused
