- Yogasanas: Yogic asanas like Shalabhasana, Dhanurasana, Bhujangasana, Paschimottasana, Sarvangasana, Halasana are all beneficial for diabetes treatment.
- Food :The bitter gourd (rich in all the essential vitamins and minerals, especially vitamins A, B1, B2, C and iron) is used as a folk medicine for diabetes. Lettuce, Tomato, Soyabeans are also beneficial. Studies have shown that the intake of water extract of Bengal gram increases the use of glucose in both the diabetic and the normal person. Germinated black gram taken with half a cupful of fresh bitter gourd juice and a teaspoonful of honey is highly beneficial in the mild diabetes treatment.
- Herbs: Eating fresh fully grown curry leaves every morning atleast for 3 months is said to prevent diabetes due to natural heredity and obesity. Two teaspoons of powdered fenugreek seeds taken daily mixed in water or milk is also good. They can even be swallowed as a whole. As an alternative, soak the seeds in a cup of water at night and the water is taken in the morning. Amla or Indian Gooseberry is effective in controlling diabetes. A tablespoon of equal quantities of powdered amla, jumbal, fruit and bitter gourd taken once or twice a day is also effective in checking the diabetes progress. Take one spoonful of cinnamon each day to prevent diabetes naturally. Garlic or its constituents have been found useful to lower the blood sugar.
- Juice:Juices of Rose apple, Lemon, Bitter gourd, Tomato, Cucumber, Carrot, Spinach, Cabbage and French bean are helpful.
- Bach Flower remedies: Olive, Honeysuckle, willow.
- Magnet Therapy: The north and the south poles of strong magnets should be placed side by side on the middle of the back for about an half an hour, 2 to 3 times a day. This should be done preferably an hour after meals or breakfast. Magnetized water should be taken 4 to 5 times a day.
- Ancient Remedies: One tablespoon of neem leaf juice taken every morning in an empty stomach controls diabetes. Diabetes can also be prevented even by eating 8 to 10 neem leaves daily. If you chew bael leaves, your pancreas will be able to produce enough insulin. Diabetes can get a lot of relief by taking everyday half a teaspoon of pure turmeric powder mixed with honey.
- Other Measures: In order to control diabetes, it is very necessary to chew at least 15 times not only eatables but also drinks. Diet should be corrected. Exercises should be done regularly. Light games, walking, jogging and swimming are recommended. Whole grains, nuts, vegetables, fruits and diary products form a good diet for the diabetic.
