Physical Trauma Injury Article

Trauma, it's often a very serious injury, a body altering injury. A physical trauma can also result in secondary complications such as shock, respiratory failure and death. Most people these days aren't ready for any type of injury. A lot of people might think that if the injury is just minor, it's not a big deal, and if it's big enough, then professional personnel is needed. Why put you, your family, or another person's life at risk? Have you heard the story where the person died right before the ambulance showed up? There is always something you can do. That's why, the first thing you should do is call for help. You are acting as the " first responder ". A first responder just uses stabilization techniques to help improve the chances of the trauma patient surviving their trip to the hospital. Secondly, DON'T move the victim. Moving the victim could result in greater damage to their wound or further risk of losing their life. If you're the victim, make sure you remember these helpful tips, so you're not at further risk. Third, use the ABC of life (airway, breathing and circulation). Always keep a first aid kit around that is big enough, and has the correct first aid supplies in it to treat a trauma wound. Oh yes, there are a couple of different Trauma First Aid Kits and First Responder First Aid Kits. If you already have a case, or your designated first+aid+kit , you can always keep the coreect medical supplies, in case of an emergency. Trauma wounds aren't something to play with. Things happen ALL day EVERY day.
