Shaklee Announces New ShakleeKids Product Line

Shaklee has just announced a new line of products. These are products for children and are called the ShakleeKids line. The first product that is being offered is a DHA dietary supplement called Mighty Smart. Mighty Smart contains the essential omega-3 fatty acid DHA and comes in a convenient and tasty orange flavored chew. This is very important, as the normal DHA sources for children come in foods that are not typically enjoyed by young kids (fish and liver).

What is DHA? Why is it important?

DHA is an essential omega-3 fatty acid that plays many roles in supporting early brain and vision development. Among other things, it promotes cell-to-cell communication and supports the production of brain chemicals that control mood and behavior. Shortages of certain brain chemicals have been shown to be a factor in children with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). It is very important for all young children to have a diet that provides all essential nutrients. This is very difficult to do for all required vitamins and minerals--especially for young children.

This is why a regimen of dietary supplements is strongly recommended for all children. Children's brains develop very quickly after birth. By the time a child is 5, his brain is already 3 times as large as it was at birth. DHA supports brain health and normal brain function, including memory, focus, concentration, and attention. At birth, DHA makes up about 97% of all the omega-3 fatty acids in the brain and 93% in the retina. To help maintain these levels, kids should consume DHA on a regular basis. The critical need for DHA in children's development is well understood, but is not well known by a lot of parents.

How Much DHA do children need?

Studies show that some kids are not getting enough of this important brain nutrient, which is prevalent in fish and certain meats such as liver. Not only do kids dislike the taste of such foods, parents fear the health risks that are associated with most seafood. Most children do not get enough DHA from diet alone. Studies in the U.S. have found that the majority get only 20-40 mg a day. Mighty Smart provides 100 mg of DHA per chew, which is the level that healthy developing children require.

DHA is obtained from omega-3 oil that meets Shaklee's high standards for purity and potency. Mighty Smart has no artificial colors, sweeteners, or preservatives and includes natural orange flavor.

The second new product that is being offered is a chewable mulitivitamin/ multimineral dietary supplement called Incredivites.

Incredivites has been formulated to "close the gap" between the nutrition most kids are getting versus what their bodies need. Most kids today get 25% of their calories from junk food, and french fries is the number one vegetable source for many school age children. There have been many studies done that indicate that kids that have poor nutrition do poorly at school.

Inadequate nutrition can also be tied to issues with a child's immune system, bone development and overall physical maturity. This can cause a lot of missed school days and a host of physical issues as children grow up and tax their bodies in sports and other school activities.

Incredivites was formulated as a "super nutrition boost" primarily for children ages 4 to 12. Incredivites is the first children's chewable multivitamin in the U.S. with lactoferrin. This is a nutrient found in breast milk and helps keep kid's immune systemworking as it should. This allows for children to avoid sickness and recover quickly when they do get sick. Incredivites contains twenty three critical nutrients and is fortified with 600 IU of vitamin D in each serving.

The Vitamin D is lacking in many kids due to spending more time inside as sunlight is a major source of it. Vitamin D is very important to kids developing strong bones and teeth. When kids get the correct amount of Vitamin D, calcium and phosphorus can be absorbed much better into their system. This allows their bones and teeth to develop strong and correctly.

Incredivites has no artificial flavors, sweeteners or preservatives added and is naturally sweetened with xylitol which does not promote cavities. It is very tasty and super easy for kids to transport and eat.

Incredivites is a great addition to the ShakleeKids line of products. Like all Shaklee products, it is always safe and always works.

If you think that losing belly fat is tough, then actually getting six pack abs is a far tougher endeavor. Most of us do not just lack muscle tone in the abdomen, we actually have a fair bit of fat covering them up. The fact is that if you want a muscled abdomen you could be proud of, you will need to put some real effort into it.

Knee Pain

We bend them, kneel on them, run and jump on them daily, yet few of us give them a second thought. Knees. They're one of the most complex and most injury prone joints in your body. Why? Blame the knee's design. Unlike the more stable hip joint, which is a ball in a deeply cushioned pocket, the knee joint is more exposed and more vulnerable. Essentially, the knee is a rounded bone that rests on a relatively flat one. The thighbone (femur) ends in two rounded knobs (condyles)
