The Sonoma Diet is popular because of one reason -- it allows you to eat great foods while you are losing weight. You do not have to deprive yourself of dairy products or wine. Why should you when you can still eat them and still be able to lose weight with the Sonoma Diet?
Are you looking for a diet program that will not deprive you of food pleasures? The author of the Sonoma Diet does not believe that you have to deprive yourself of good food just so you can lose weight. Connie Guttersen, the creator and the author of the Sonoma Diet, believes that the secret to losing weight and maintaining weight loss is learning how to eat the right kind and amount of foods.
Loving the Sonoma Diet
If you are used to fairly restrictive diet programs, you will be amazed by the Sonoma Diet. You will even be allowed to eat eggs, cereals, nuts, grains and dairy during the 10-day limiting phase of the program. Once you have passed this phase, there is practically nothing that you cannot eat. You can even eat sweets and drink wine. Of course, there are some foods that are restricted or forbidden. These foods include saturated fats, sugar and refined flour. If you are not ready to give up on processed foods, you should reconsider taking on this diet. Now, if you favor organic foods, raw fruits and vegetables, you will enjoy the Sonoma Diet. This program is fairly structured, so if you can afford to find time to cook, you will enjoy creating the delectable Sonoma Diet dishes.
Eating the Right Foods
The Sonoma Diet is not restrictive in a sense that you give yourself generous amounts of nutritious foods. The diet offers great menus - a roster of sumptuous meals and dishes. This is probably why there are many people who are opting for the Sonoma Diet. The meals are mostly Mediterranean in nature, so there are a lot of whole grains, fishes, fruits, vegetables and nuts. You can eat almonds, bell peppers, blueberries, broccoli, grapes, olive oil, spinach, strawberry, tomatoes and whole grains.
The meals are meant to promote healthy heart. They are also designed to cleanse the body off of carcinogenic toxins. Most of the foods that are recommended by the Sonoma Diet are meant to cleanse the body off of toxins. These are mostly antioxidants that will help greatly in lowering LDL or the bad cholesterol. The recommended dishes are also packed with various nutrients like Vitamin C, calcium, Vitamin K and folate.
The best thing about the Sonoma Diet is that you can eat. You don't have to deprive yourself of rich-tasting, delicious foods. Because the diet focuses on choosing the right foods, people are naturally drawn to it. Why choose a program that deprives you of good food when you can opt for a program that allows you to lose weight and enjoy the process at the same time?
