"If you are someone that wants to have a beautiful and healthy looking tan but is concerned by the potential dangers of tanning, you might be interested in using a bronzer or a tanning lotion in order to help you achieve the look you want. But, is a bronzer really a good option for you? There are a few pros and cons that you should consider before deciding to go this route.
Keeping it Safe
One of the definite benefits to using a bronzer rather than getting an actual tan is the safety feature. Research has routinely shown that exposure to the sun or exposure to the rays emitted from a tanning bad can significantly increase your chances of developing skin cancer. If you use a bronzer or a tanning lotion, on the other hand, you don’t have to put your health at risk in order to look great.
Looking Natural
One of the potential drawbacks to the using a bronzer is the fact that it can look unnatural if it is not applied properly. If you apply the bronzer unevenly on your face, for example, it can actually make it appear dirty. If you apply too much, on the other hand, it will look odd and it will be obvious that you do not have a natural tan. Similarly, it takes a bit of skill and know-how to properly blend the bronzer so you cannot see the lines as the bronzer transitions from your natural skin to the bronzed skin.
Maintaining a Tan
When you use a bronzer in order to get a tanned look, the results are only temporary. Therefore, if you want a tan that is always present and that doesn’t add to your morning makeup routine, getting a natural tan or a tan with a tanning bed may be a better option. At the same time, unless you are willing to go to tanning beds throughout the year, a bronzer makes it possible to have a tanned look all year long. If you live in a part of the country that has four distinct seasons, having a year-long tan is otherwise impossible unless you go to a tanning bed. In this case, using a bronzer can be a great solution.
When applying a bronzer, it is important to choose one that fits your skin type in order to get the most natural look. Keep in mind, however, that the bronzer can be irritating to your skin. Therefore, care must be taken when selecting a bronzer in order to make sure your skin stays looking healthy and attractive."
