When it comes to being fit most of us envision that goal being achieved only through a rigorous dedication level that is far beyond the reach of our reality. But is that real? Do you have to become a fitness nut to be fit?
Wipe away your previous visions of becoming fit because the research supports that to achieve a healthier fit state a recent Veterans Affair study concluded that only 30 minutes of brisk walking can have you fit enough to reduce your mortality rate by one half.
To achieve fitness does not mean you have to become a fitness nut that is wholly devoted to the proposition. It just means that you have to spend at least 30 minutes of the average 17 hours a day that we are all awake taking care of the physical need that our bodies have to move and be active.
You do not have to buy expensive equipment or join a gym to get the benefit of fitness in your life. And if walking around is not something you want to do after a long day at work then consider a routine of simple calisthenics. Studies have proven that despite all of the improvements in exercise equipment in the fitness industry this equipment is not necessary to actually become fit. Using your own body weight through a calisthenics routine that you can do in any room in your home, for less than an hour a day will give you benefits that will improve your physical health and beyond.
Those improvements go well beyond even the physical but include improving your mental health as well. If you are feeling stressed out or blue regular exercise of only 30 minutes can bring you out of your funk.
Before you make your future appointment with a doctor to stand in line with all of those people who did not take that 30 minutes out of their day to take care of the important physical need for our bodies to be active, think now about why you have not been taking care of that important physical need.
This is not about becoming the next great body that all can admire this is about your health and living a life that has exponentially reduced rates of diseases and conditions that are currently plaguing inactive individuals at rates that have been increasing nationally at alarming rates.
It may seem that the long work day and other life responsibilities of life have left no time to take care of yourself besides basic hygiene and fueling with food. But that is only because you made the decision to not fit fitness into your schedule. There is not a person alive that cannot fit 30 minutes of physical activity into their life.
Before your medicine cabinet gets filled with drugs from every pharmaceutical manufacturer on the planet, make the time to give your body the physical activity that it needs to be healthy and stay healthy. You do not have to become a fitness fanatic to achieve the benefits of regular physical activity and you do not have to spend a fortune on the proposition either. Get up move around and be active for at least 30 minutes, that you can even break up to two 15 minute sessions, and change your health for the better.
But, know this before you embark on your healthy quest, being human also means that within 90 days your motivation to exercise regularly will wane. That is a fact for the great majority of people who decide to add regular exercise to their life. Why? The only reasonable answer to that question at the moment is that this is the way most of us are wired. If you are one of the majority then you will have to take steps to get around that wiring that will keep causing you to quit and return to an unhealthy state.
You have a few options when it comes to breaking through the 90 day mark and go on to keep regular exercise part of your regular routine. You can hire a personal trainer, which can run into the thousands and requires a continuous monetary commitment. Or you can hook up with a friend that you can only hope is also not part of the majority of people who are wired to quit within 90 days.
You can also log onto the internet each day to read an article or other motivating text method when your motivation is waning. Numerous sites provide varying programs designed to keep you moving.
Or you can pick up your cell phone, iPOD or MP3 player and overcome the motivational waning that will occur for most. A California corporation has developed a way to give everyone the boost that is needed, conveniently, instantly and privately by providing a multitude of audio messages lasting less than a minute that will keep you moving.
Regular exercise does not require you to become a fitness nut or work your butt off more than you already are. It just takes a brisk walk or a few calisthenics movements and you will gain all of the tremendous benefits and very real rewards that it brings. If you do not know how to do calisthenics there are plenty of sites that give this information away for free. A search query of “calisthenics” will deliver you sites that give away all of the instruction you need to succeed.
But make sure to add a way to stay committed because once you get started you want to make sure you can keep it going. To do that you will need to add a system of commitment support that works to make it happen in reality.
Now that you know everything you need to know to succeed and bring a fit reality to your life now it is time you do something about it! So get started, live longer and live happier; a reality that is literally guaranteed!

Scientists discover fountain of youth
By: Osgood Fielding III | 09-07-2008
Scientists have discovered that eating less can help you live longer. According to research just published, eating 15% less can add 4 years to your life. But is it worth it? I dunno about other people, but I eat because I enjoy it. I don't think it would be worth it for me to restrict my enjoyment just to live a few more years. What is your opinion? Would you eat less if it added a couple of years to your life?

Secret Lover/Friend
By: MiamiTemp | 08-07-2008
I'm a 25 y/o female from Miami. I've been involved with a man romantically for a year and a half but nobody knows about our relationship. I can't go into detail about why we have to keep this a secret. He's not married or anything but if people found out then it could hurt his career, etc. I had known for a few years before we started anything sexual but had fallen for him way before that. When the opportunity presented itself I took it and things have been very hot with him since then. However, he has no idea how much I care about him. We were always friends, so I know he gets that much but I'm scared that if he found out that I was in love with him our relationship would change. It kills me not to be able to tell this guy that he's everything to me. I've had my share of relationships, whether it has been boyfriends, friends with benefits or whatever but this is completely throwing me off track in my life. I know he recently started seeing another woman, but the terms of our current relationship are strictly "friends with benefits" so I can't really say anything. The other woman has no idea that me and him have the type of sexual relationship that we do. She thinks we are just friends. I love having this secret, but at times it gets difficult. I get sad at times when I think that he is waking up next to her and not me. He'll swing by my house, we'll hook up and then he'll go over to her house for a movie. It sucks and I'm not quite sure how to handle it. I don't want it to end, I want him to know how I feel but I can't bring myself to tell him. Anyone got any words of wisdom?
