Creating a weight loss mindset is absolutely critical if you're ever going to achieve your weight loss and fitness goals. The mind governs all. When you use it correctly you can literally think your way into fitness. Today's article is the first in a multi-part discussion on the power of your mind when it comes to achieving your weight loss & fitness goals.
Understanding Precedes Change
Before we can ever begin to make changes and see our results, we must first understand that which controls them - the MIND. Just like every other part of the universe, the mind is governed by very specific LAWS of the UNIVERSE. These laws are present and all around us constantly without us giving much thought to them.
Let's look at the most obvious example, the Universal Law of Gravity. If you choose to ignore this particular law; you could get into some serious trouble with dire consequences for ignoring it and/or not being aware of it.
Take this scenario for example: You are on the edge of a building and decide to walk off the edge to see what will happen. It is a definite result that you will fall to the ground without exception. That is the law. The same law applies for everyone, even an infant who is completely unaware of the law. Ignorance of the law does not change the "rules."
As stated earlier, there are many laws that govern our universe. To maximize your success you must become familiar with and work with these laws. If you ignore them, you will pay the price. If you work harmoniously with them, you will be richly rewarded.
The Great Law - Energy Is
Way back in elementary school Science class, we learned the law that everything is made up of energy, the same energy as a matter of fact. Science and theology agree, nothing can be created or destroyed; it can only be changed from one form to another. Here are some everyday examples to consider:
Take your hand, for instance. Stop a moment and take a look at it. Go ahead and hold it up in front of your face. Do you realize that your hand is a mass of molecules all vibrating at a very high rate of speed? Stop a moment and think. The chair you may be sitting in right now is also made up of energy. The book you are holding and reading, the water you drink and the food you eat - they are all energy. Since everything is made up of the same energy, then it goes without saying - everything that ever was, is, and will be has always been here.
Take airplane flight for example. The ability to fly has always been here. It just took the imagination, will and determination of the Wright brothers to make us aware of it - to offer proof to us that it can be done. Another perfect example is the internet. I remember a time not too long ago when the very idea of typing a few "keywords" into a "search engine" would allow you to retrieve millions of information resources in less than a second was absolutely unthinkable and certainly believed not to be possible. The entire idea of the PC was absurd no more than a few decades ago, and then having one, or more, in your own home...ludicrous.
The fact remains, however, the laws that make these tools possible today have always been there. It simply took the "raising" of awareness to bring them about.
The same rules apply when it comes to making your body healthy and fit. All it takes is an awareness of key information and abiding by certain laws to make it happen. By tapping into this energy, we can do virtually anything we set our minds to do (i.e., create a weight loss mindset and achieve our weight loss & fitness goals).
Over the next few weeks we'll discuss some of these very important Laws of the Universe and how they relate to creating the weight loss mindset and achieving your weight loss & fitness goals. This may be a strange subject for some of you reading this. But, trust me, if you stick with it and open your mind, you'll not only get it, you'll be greatly rewarded for it :-)
