turmeric benefits and uses

How much turmeric to use to be effective in treating the body by taking it in its natural form is still unclear as different studies show different results. One thing that all the scientists agree upon is the fact that the curcumin oil is the compound responsible for making it so bio active.

How it benefits the body

Curcumin composes about 3% to 5% of the molecular structure of turmeric. It is known as a phytochemical and it has many properties. Below is a short list of some of the benefits of having this spice on a regular basis.

It is a potent anti-inflammatory

Natural antiseptic

Natural anti bacterial agent

Natural analgesic (pain killer)

Very powerful anti-oxidant

It is believed to be very beneficial for just some of the following conditions:

Thrombosis

Arteriosclerosis

Prevention and treatment of heart disease

Prevention and treatment of cancer

This is not the complete list as there are other ways that curcumin effects the body. Even so the studies that have been carried out in laboratories showing these results have been performed on animal or cells in vivo. This means that the turmeric extract has been dissolved in alcohol or other medium to work.

So knowing how much turmeric to use is difficult because studies with humans have shown that taking the spice naturally is not very effective as it does not metabolize well and therefore it doesn't show in the blood that there is enough to be medically active.

How to ensure it enters the body

The way to get around that though is to dissolve it in a fat based substance such as coconut milk, as all essential oils, which this is the same, are soluble in fat.

The way that I take it to be bioactive in my body is as part of a wonderful multi nutritional supplement that my friend introduced me to last year. These supplements contain over 70 similar plant extracts that are expertly blended to give the body its maximum protection against many nasty diseases.

I trust this company 100% that their products are safe and that they do not contain one harmful chemical in them. I love taking my supplement everyday and since I have been taking them I have noticed that my energy has increased and I am feeling great as I benefit from ingredients such as decaffeinated green tea extract, resveratrol, aloe vera, ginko biloba and many others.

It doesn't matter knowing how much turmeric to use to be effective as this supplement takes care of that for me.
