Vaginal Discharge – Home Remedies for Vaginal Discharge

Vaginal discharge is a clear or whitish fluid that comes out of the vagina. The uterus, cervix, or vagina can produce the fluid. Vaginal discharge is normal and varies during your menstrual cycle. Before ovulation (the release of the egg), there is A LOT of mucous produced, up to 30X more than after ovulation. It is also more watery and elastic during that phase of your cycle. You may want to wear panty liners during that time.

The basic function of you vagina is to provide a route from the outside of your vagina to your uterus and the rest of your internal reproductive system. The natural, acidic, pH of your vagina acts to prevent infections. The acidic nature of your vagina is caused by natural, good, bacteria produced by your body. When your vagina is healthy, the vagina keeps itself clean and in a healthy state by producing secretions of normal vaginal discharge. The natural balance of the vagina can be disrupted by anything that interferes with its’ normal environment.

Sometimes women feel like they are going to urinate (pee) when they are having sex, or sometimes they think they actually did urinate. Usually this is because she is about to ejaculate or has ejaculated. Rarely is it in fact urine.

Home Remedies For vaginal discharge

To avoid yeast infection avoids wearing tight underwear or other tight acrylic garments daily. Wear loose fitting cotton underwear and panties and avoid wearing jeans, legging, and panty hose every day.

Apply once or twice a day.

Take a tampon and immerse it in yogurt. Put it in the vagina, twice in a day. Continue this remedy for each day till your symptoms leave away.

Basic breathing exercises in yoga help get rid of painful intercourse and other related problems. The fresh air taken into the lungs, exhaling of stale air revitalizes and fills positive energy into both mind and body that is so essential for good health.

Yoga that strengthens the back and spine are good exercises that can get some relief from painful intercourse.

Take a warm bath. A shallow sitz bath or an ordinary bath can be very soothing to irritated genital tissues, says Dr. McKay. And skip the soap. "Soap leaches out the skin's natural oils--the body's natural lipid barrier against germs," she says. (So does bubble bath.) This makes you more susceptible to infection, including vaginal infections.

For non-vaginal yeast infections, you can apply garlic paste straightly on the affected parts. This remedy is for other affected parts of the body which are effected by yeasts and not for the vaginal yeast infection.

Starch is the perfect medium for growing fungus cultures, says Dr. Spence. Since most after-bath powders have a starch base, you're encouraging an infection when you use a dusting powder. Keep powder out of your panties.

Keep your blood sugar under control. Yeast thrives on sugar, according to a study at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. High sugar intake contributes to yeast infections. It provides food for yeast. People with diabetes, who are more prone to yeast infections, should monitor their blood sugars. Also, excessive lactose in dairy products and artificial sweeteners increase the likelihood of yeast infections.
