Mantra meditation. In some variations of mantra meditation, the practitioners will make use of sounds. Often the sound of “om” or “ah” may be used. Speaking with several participants of sound meditation, I have heard various reasons for the using of sounds. One reason, I heard several times was that it clears the mind from everyday thoughts. (Which is often a problem confronted with other forms of meditation.) Some of the sounds of mantra meditation have wonderful histories. Some of the sounds are understood as the sounds of creation (ah, Allah). Others have meanings such as peacefulness or a sense of gratitude (Om), and yet other sounds have no meaning except for the feeling or energy that that is omitted. Sound meditation is often used with the same purposes as other forms of meditations to achieve a feeling of oneness or as in some methods to create a more fulfilling life.
Conscious Breathing-Sit comfortably with your back straight. If need be sit with a backrest. Your legs can be crossed comfortably or lay them straight before you. If you can find someone who can lead you through the exercise it shall be easier especially the first time around.
The place and room you choose must be quiet and clean. Perhaps you could play soft instrumental music especially designed for meditation. This is however not essential. Allow yourself to breathe naturally especially focusing on the area where the breath enters your nostrils.
Christianity -In traditional forms of meditation, the individual seeks to empty one's self; , the object is self, albeit the higher self whereas in Christian meditation the believer seeks, rather, to be filled., the object is God, who is high above all
Hinduism-Meditation is practiced both spiritually and religiously in Hinduism. Yoga is the practice of meditating and mastering philosophy in Hinduism. Under Yoga, there are many other different types of meditation which are believed to help a person elevate oneself spiritually and physiologically. The main aim of many individuals who meditate is to achieve a state of calm and serenity.
