Weight Loss

Weight loss is a major problem nowadays. People care a lot about how they look and feel ashamed when they are not in shape. Sometimes, the want to be slim leads to smoking. They may be pleasant-looking on the outside, but their insides would be quite ugly. Smoking harms the body and may lead to lung cancer.

Why are some people fat?

 

  • Starvation
    Some people make the mistake of dieting when they are too young. Irregular food intake (taking lesser food than needed) can lead to weight gain. How? When you starve your body, it gets hungry and craves for some nourishment. Anything that you eat later whether fatty or full of sugar would be absorbed quickly into the body cell and they would store excess fat for they have the ‘default fear’ of starvation.
  • Growing
    Some like to ‘dump’ themselves with more food than needed until they are filled up to the neck. Similarly, excess fat will be stored as there would be simply too much of food in the body especially if you have eaten a very rich meal. Parents sometimes want their kids to look cute so they overload them with whatever they like, usually candies. This habit of overloading tails these kids and when they are adults, they are not cute, they are FAT!
  • Hereditary
    It is hereditary for some. Their parents are obese and so are they.
  • Emotional Suppression
    There are people who eat a lot unknowingly when they are angry to control or suppress their emotions.
  • Eating for Fun
    Nowadays, people are usually on their computers and they have something to munch on all the time though they are not hungry at all.

Treatments

Some go on a crash diet for a certain period and then slowly they increase their food intake saying, “It is okay to have a little,” This little food adds up and in the end they are fat again. This is known as the yoyo effect. What I would suggest is to snack on fruits instead of chips, create a track record of your weight and follow the following phrase: Eat like a king in the morning, a minister at noon and a beggar at night. Always do a lot of research if you plan to go on any slimming program. Remember, do only what benefits your body, not something that deteriorates it.
