There are so many different types of cosmetic procedures available that it may be difficult for a person considering a cosmetic procedure to determine which one is right for them. This is particularly true when it comes to different types of procedures for a person’s face – lift procedures especially. There are many different kinds of lift surgeries available. One type that is very popular is the forehead lift. This type of lift is generally called a brow lift.

What is a Brow Lift?

A brow lift, as its name suggests, involves a lifting of the brows and forehead skin. Brow or forehead lifts can be performed either classically or in an endoscopic manner. With a classic forehead lift, an incision is made from ear to ear. Where the incision is made is determined by where a person’s hairline is and where it would blend in the best. From that point the necessary procedure is done and the incision is generally stapled.

With an endoscopic brow lift, a few small incisions are made rather than one long incision. Then a small camera is inserted so the surgeon can see what actions need to be taken. A small device is entered into one of the other small incisions so the surgeon can complete his or her work without opening up the entire forehead.

The endoscopic brow lift is becoming more and more popular. This is because it has a much shorter recovery time and it is less invasive and painful. The risk of scarring is also far lower with an endoscopic lift than it is with a classic lift. However, endoscopic lifts are somewhat more expensive than classic lifts.

Who can Benefit From a Brow Lift?

Most people who feel that they look tired or angry all the time due to a furrowed brow may be able to benefit from a brow lift. This type of lift can help make a person look younger and happier. Also, if a person is already getting a face lift, he or she should seriously consider a brow lift as well. This may be beneficial because the entire length of the face will then look younger.

If a person elects to only lift one part of his or her face it could look uneven after the procedure. Any person considering one of these procedures (or any cosmetic surgery) should discuss his or her expectations with a surgeon prior to committing to a surgery so that the person’s expectations are more likely to be realistic and met.
