Why People Love Fish Oil

Today you will hear on the news and read in various articles how the cases of people with high cardiovascular and cholesterol have grown. Our lifestyles include fast food, stress and high fat diets not to mention lack of sleep.

When you are looking around for supplements that will help you live better and be healthier in general, you will find that one of the supplements that comes up very quickly is fish oil. Fish oil is essential oil that has been derived from an oily fish, and it is a source of vital omega-3 fatty acids. While you can get omega-3 oils from other sources, like vegetables, you will find that fish oil contains eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid, known respectively as EPA and DHA. EPA and DHA are substances that may drastically cut down on inflammation in the body, leading to them being helpful for all manner of things, including arthritis and joint pain.

When you take in the omega-3 fatty acids that are found in fish oil, you'll find that it may be extremely beneficial for maintaining the health of your heart. It has been researched for the possible health benefits for those with cardiovascular disease as well as protecting those from stroke and heart attack. Essentially, fish oil may lower your cholesterol and your blood pressure, which in turn can hopefully add years to your life. This can go a long way towards keeping you healthier longer.

Do you remember fish being called brain food when you were a kid? You'll find that that was largely due to the fact that fish oil was involved Omega 3 fatty acids can be an integral part to memory, reasoning and focus in adults and children. It has also been said when pregnant and nursing mothers take fish oil supplements it may impact the intelligence or even the happiness of their children. There is even a great deal of evidence that points to fish oil may be beneficial for alleviating the symptoms of depression, bipolar disorder and attention deficient disorder . Some people even find that this supplement is ideal when you are looking at making sure that migraines are reduced or even alleviated entirely!

Eating fish may not be the optimum way to receive a healthy dose of omega 3 fatty acids. You would need to consume a large quantity in order to reap the benefits mentioned above. Other things to wary of are the lead and mercury levels in fish foods. Other people simply do not like fish. Supplementation of omega 3 fatty acids is a simple and convenient way to receive all the benefits of fish oil.

More research now and in the future will hopefully reveal more positive health advantages not only to humans but pets as well. So far it seems fish oil is here to stay as a popular supplement that has helped people in their quest for a healthier lifestyle.

If you are looking to take fish oil, you will find that there are many different resources that you have available to you. It is safe and easy to get a hold of, and it is often recommended that you take once or twice a day.
