For painters, a wood picture frame is often the best choice, and there are several different factors that will come into play when you are going about the process of selecting a picture frames made of wood. First, think about the size of the artwork that you wish to frame. Is it a standard size? If so, you can save money and find a beautiful frame if you select a ready made picture frame.
These picture frames come in a wealth of different sizes and are reliably in stock, so you should be able to select a picture frame and purchase it with speedy turnaround. Sometimes a ready made picture frame comes as a kit, including the glazing, mount and mat board, and even a picture hanger, making for a simple project to frame your artwork yourself. If, however, your artwork is uniquely sized, you will need to select a custom made picture frame. This offers you the most versatility, because you can select the exact molding you wish used in the picture frame, and that, along with a beautiful mat board, will provide your artwork with a distinctive edging that no other piece of art will have.
