March Madness is Around the Corner

Only one week before the Big Dance officially gets under way, all the major conferences are having action. There are several teams from 38 Conferences willing to play hard to move from district to regional tournaments on the road to reach the Final Four on April 2.

Although, there are millions of sports fans who look forward to whip themselves into the frenzy of games. For most of these basketball enthusiast this month means a basketball show full of high talent, tired defenses and good shooters a long with big doses of fun.

In March everyone can be a Bracketologists, most people like to go with the popular one, and this gives UCLA and Kentucky privileged positions in view of the fact that no one has won more national titles than those two teams.

Since a basketball team's success is the real catalyst for joining National Championship, it is recommendable to worry about the performance instead of popularity. Therefore, some important information from the big tournaments can’t be ignored in order to start making predictions with accuracy:

UCLA is first in the Pac-10 followed by Washington State, while Stanford dropped from No. 41 to No. 50 in the RPI as a result of its losses to USC and UCLA last week

Kansas is leading the Big 12 pursued by Texas A&M, one of the favorites to reach the 2007 National Championship, while Wisconsin finished second to Ohio State in the Big Ten.

Eastern and Western Division from SEC Conference are headed by Florida and Mississippi State. Memphis finished undefeated in Conference USA and North Carolina
Has won 15 ACC titles and is the No. 1 seed for this year’s tournament.
The new Cinderella for this year can be Big South Champion Winthrop moving into Top 25 for the 1st time in its history. The season has been very unpredictable and March Madness is around the corner but anything can happen and we’ll have to wait a little more to meet the protagonists of the Big Dance.
