3 Ways to Organized and Less Stressful Gift Giving

Last year you were so proud of yourself for being ahead of the shopping game. You had been shopping since December 26th the year before. You found some great deals on the most fabulous gifts. It was time to finish your holiday shopping, but not knowing what all you had “stashed away” you headed out shopping and purchase more than you really needed. As you began to wrap the gifts and packages you started to find all the great gifts you had purchased throughout that year. You realized that you had way too many gifts, more than anyone could possibly need. You wish you had been more organized. If only you had a way to organize your gift giving.

It’s still early in the season! You can organize your gift giving. Here are 3 tips guaranteed to organize your gift giving this year:

  1. Create a gift giving list. Having a list is a must. You need to write down the name of each person you intend to give a gift to AND make notes of gift ideas. Make sure you take this list with you when you shop.
  2. Gift “stash” list. Keeping track of any gifts you “stash away” at home in order to not duplicate or add too many additional items. Sometimes we need to get creative with where we put things. Make a note on your “stash” list of where you put the item. Keep your list hidden. You don’t want it to get into the wrong hands.
  3. Simplify your giving. Keeping your gift giving simple will help you keep it organized. You can give clutter-free gifts. Sending a holiday card with a handwritten letter can be heartwarming and more meaningful. Remember your reason for giving and give from the heart.

Having organization during the holidays can really help us to enjoy the season. By organizing your gift giving you will reduce your stress and really give yourself time to enjoy the holidays in ways that are the most meaningful to you.
