These are 6 tips for the children's enjoyment and parents sanity on holiday. I recommend these after taking numerous trips with 3 children under 10 both camping in uk in a tent and in chalets at holiday parks. I know what works which are a real help and which are a waste of time.Husbands/Partners don't moan when the wife is in charge and packs the cases!
1.Clothes for the kids Take extra t shirts for the kids a few pairs of denim,2 cardigans in case it gets chilly when they walk home from the entertainment room at night a few shorts, 2 sets of swim wear, 2 sets of towels and a bath towel each, if it rains it is so hard to get towels dry in a caravan, tent or chalet.1 can dry 1 for swimming then the bath towel will be fresh for use at night.plus 1 or 2 best clothes.
2.Take a rain coat, wellies, trainers and sandals, sandals for beach wellies in case of downpours and trainers for playing intrainers clog up with sand and can be uncomfortable for kids.best shoes 1 pair each if you need them.
3. Take fancy dress costumes or take things you can make them with when you get there its is great fun cheering your child on in a competition they could have prepared for in advance in order to be in with a chance to win a prize. If they go to the local disco club pack an outfit so they can show off their skills at the the dancing competitions. It Is better for a child to be excited and joining in than being miserable because they wernt prepared. Take backing tapes cds and sheet music for any karaoke fans.
4.pack away a bag each and fill it with goodies in case of rainy days but don't show the children until you have to. Put in packs of playing cards, small games, writing sets, colouring hseets bouncy balls etc things the whole family can do incase of cancelled games in the club and rainy days.
5.Take a travel pack of washing liquid so you can wash a few things in the sink, pack plasters, kids paracetamol (and for adults).
6. save up 2ps kids love the 2p slot machines in the amusements give them a bags each and you can be free to play bingo if they are old enough.older kids like to play on the dearer driving games, try to perswade them to join you for games such as ten pin bowling or hovery ice hocky thye money goes further you all have fun and they will remember this holiday years down the line. Especially if you feel you dont spend enough quality time together as a family.
