What is Halloween?
Halloween is an international festival, usually celebrated on 31 October every year in the United States, Canada, Ireland, and Scotland. The festival dates back to ancient Celt period, when a festival to welcome the new season of harvesting was celebrated on a large scale. To honor their gods, Celts used to burn big bonfires of foods, animals, and fruits and dedicate it to their ancestors to provide them their blessings. It was also believed that on this day, dead ones visit their land and converse with the people. In this day, since morning people start decorating their homes and streets to gives it a new look. People invite each other on this day and make different delicious recipes and food items to lure their guests and invitees. The festival of Halloween is considered as the second important festival of the country only after the Christmas. Commercially also, Halloween generates good revenues and involves money transactions.
Generally, a week before the festival, people start doing their preparation for making it a grand day. They plan out their dresses and normally wear a different styled cloth to earn appreciations. For school and college students, this festival has a special meaning. These people generally decorate their place with lots of pumpkins and lightings to create a version of heaven on the earth. Devil, hospital patient, black weirdo are some of the popular costumes fro Halloween. However, people have started mixing up the ideas and dressing pattern a lot.
