Making the Most of Your Easter Holiday

Spring is a wonderful season of change and rebirth. It is a time when the bitter winter frost starts to recede, wild life begins to flourish, the snow pack begins to wither/melt away, and flowers begin their early bloom. Along with spring also comes the awesome holiday of Easter.

Easter is a holiday in which most Christian faiths celebrate the resurrection of the Savior. It is a wonderful opportunity to get together with family/friends, to grow together spiritually, and to recover from the depressing months of winter. It is a great opportunity to show some one how much you really love/admire them.

Some great Easter holiday traditions include dying eggs, giving mass amounts of chocolate, minor gift giving, eating a massive dinner, and the ever always Easter egg hunt (a personal favorite in my youth). All of these activities are all accompanied by the ever faithful home decorations put up by our ever devoted parents (mostly our mothers). With all the decorations and activities, who is to not like Easter?

A problem arises however by knowing what to give some one as a gift. Typically, Easter presents are not huge and glamorous for children (just candy and the ever satisfying milk chocolate bunnies), but they may sometimes include jewelry (such as Chamilia beads or Trollbeads ) and other precious gifts for the ever faithful spouse. It is just another opportunity to show your significant other how much you truly love them (or it is another opportunity for husbands to get out of the dog house). Along with these gifts from the heart, time spent with the family away from work makes for an excellent holiday.

Easter is a time to improve our relationships with our friends and family. The best way to perform this activity is to spend time with your family, and to give them the gift of love. Material Gifts are great as well, but the simple gesture of a hug/kiss or just saying “I love you,” is the best way to promote this holiday of rebirth/renewal.

By: Curtis Hodges | 15/11/2009
