No matter how big or strong you are, if you get caught in a rear naked choke, then you are tapping out or passing out. There are no other options. You have less than 10 seconds to tap out because no one can survive when the blood stops flowing to the brain. It is the most effective and always exciting to see.
Of course, MMA is more than pounding the daylights out of someone, and it is more than submissions. These are true athletes. You really never know who is going to win. When Matt Hughes and Matt Serra enter the octagon, it really could go either way. These guys are so well matched it comes down to a single solid blow.
