What Not To Get Your Wife Or Girlfriend For Christmas!

Most men are horrible at Christmas shopping! We're generally terrible at all kinds of shopping with the exception of tools, fishing gear, and big screen TV's. The concept of choosing an appropriate gift for our better halves totally escapes us, and year after year, we continue to make the same poor choices and mistakes.

Well, I'm not sure if I'm going to get it right this year and end up with the perfect gift, but I know I won't be making any of these sure-fire mistakes!

Kitchen Gadgets. Yes, I know she says she wants them, and she does, just not on Christmas! You may think the 12 speed, 27 attachments, food processor would be perfect, but you’re wrong. Unless you want to walk around with a scar on your forehead that resembles the General Electric logo, move on. Remember, kitchen appliances are relatively light weight and easy to throw!

Cleaning equipment. Sure she complains about that old vacuum cleaner, it's ugly, it's noisy, and it doesn't work like it use to, but know this, it's a really bad decision. I still have bruises and marks on my feet, and I'm sure, she even broke my little toe once! Never before in the history of cleaning did I see her vacuum so much, and it always seemed as though one of my feet were in the way!  Accidental or ... hmm?

Sporting goods. I realize she has been after you to become more involved, share activities together and take her out, but this is not the way to go! Purchase any type of fishing equipment, hunting gear or sporting goods for her and you are guaranteed a trip to the emergency room. That fish hook stuck in your eyebrow is going to leave a mark, and there's plenty more where that came from.

Exercise equipment.  Forget it ... don't even look down that aisle! You may as well walk out of the store and step in front of a bus! Enough said!

Cookbooks or “How To” Guides. If you purchase anything that implies that she doesn't know what she is doing, LOOK OUT! Cookbooks are especially dangerous because you are also saying her mother was a bad cook! Just eat what she serves, and you'll be alright.

Look, this shouldn't be hard! This is the women you love, the mother of your children. You have lived with this woman for years; surely, you know something about her! Think hard, it might have been something she mentioned, maybe you noticed her admiring a certain page in a catalogue, or you overheard her talking to someone. If you can't recall anything like that, try some subtle questions at dinner, just find a way.

If you put some effort in, you can find the perfect Christmas gift for your loved one. She will be happy and you will too. Good Hunting!
