A woman is never free
Dalip Singh Wasan, Advocate.

This society is man ruled and that is the reason this woman on this earth has to live a second rated life throughout. She is physically weak and that is the reason she has been kept at the second position in all the societies in this world. When she takes birth, the parents are not very happy especially in countries like Indian, she is not given a suitable bringing up and especially when she has got her brothers too. She starts bearing all this discrimination from the very start of her life. When the parents are planning education of their children, they are devoting more time, energy and finance for the male children and they are ignoring the position of the girl child at their houses. she starts bearing all these discriminations once again and makes herself ready to meet the challenges ahead. When the parents are planning trainings for their children, even then she is left at the second position and when the parents know that this female child is not their property and shall be going to another house, they try to ignore her and she bears all this discrimination without any word from her side.
The parents start locating a match for their daughter and when they are doing all this, they are not taking into consideration the wishes and desires of the girl child and she is given in marriage to another house without considering the desires of the female child. And here in this new house, she is mostly treated as a domestic servant and all the people present in this house try to establish that they are superior and she is inferior and even they are passing adverse remarks on the dowry articles or gifts she has brought and sometime these people start commenting upon the parents of the girl. She starts adjusting herself in this house with difficulty, but she could tolerate all these discriminations and one day she becomes head of this house and this stage is reached only when she is old. She has to suffer for many years toiling for those who are never thankful to her.
The man may help her or may ignore her, but since he is her husband, she has to tolerate all that because house of her parents has already closed down their doors for her and she is supposed to spend the remaining part of her life with the new set of people. The husband may be living with her or he may be having keeps, he may be visiting prostitutes, he may be having dancing girls, he may be visiting dev daasis, he may be committing rape or may be indulging in adultery. She has to bear all this because she know that objections from her side could lead her to ousting from the house or she could be divorced or separated. She knows that a divorced woman in the society has got no place and often she would not get a better man after her divorce.
Most of the women in developing and backward societies are not earning hands and therefore, they are not in a position to maintain themselves and that is the reason they are forced and obliged to bear all these discriminations without any voice from her side. In the house where she lives, she has to bear children and then she has to remain busy with the children till they are young and duly settled in life. After marriage and after settlement in life, she has got her heart with them and she always wants a good news from their side. This is the life of woman in this world and though she is the special gift of God to man, this man could not give suitable place to this woman and that is the reason, most of the men shall be given severe punishment by God on their return and the remaining people must learn a lesson and from today they should start behaving properly with the woman in their house. That is the only solution and even God could not save this woman since centuries. She had been suffering since long and all her prayers have been ignored even by God.
