The maternal bond is characteristically the connection between a mother and her child. For a lot of new mothers, instant maternal bond with their babies is always experienced after birth. Bonding is a slowly unfolding experience that takes time to grow. It would even take months for some mothers.
Even with childbirth, some mothers don't necessarily experience that maternal bond which comes along with such eventful delivery. Several reasons like traumatic birth or certain pressures influence the lack of maternal bond after birth.
There are various forms of developing maternal bond. Breastfeeding is solidly believed to cultivate the post-partum maternal bond with touch and reciprocated gazing. The unique concept of infant potty training is also a great way to develop maternal bond.
Infant potty training, does this really work? The method is strongly believed to work for believers and only with strong efforts from the parent. This form of bonding presents a gentle option to using the diapers full time.
For new mothers, the concept of infant potty training seems really radical. In the early part of 1950s, though, it was already an established tradition in Europe and Asia where most babies should be potty trained by 18 months of age.
Proponents of the potty training method assert that this method is necessary to encourage the infant to develop some form of independence. The scientific world is still silent, however, with this claim. What is certain is that it is a form of bonding for both the baby and the mother where it cultivates a sense of comfort with the infant when with the mother.
What is intriguing with this method is that the mother normally begins working with the infant even before the baby is capable of sitting down. Instead of starting toilet training around the time when the child takes the first steps, this method starts much earlier. A mother, thus, needs to consider this plan during pregnancy or, at the latest, the first weeks after the delivery of the baby.
Since it starts at the very beginning of a baby's life, the training is really a test of instinct. Most mothers who went through the process instinctively distinguish the time when their infants need to go. This training offers to deepen one's relationship especially with their first babies because it is all about communication between you as a parent and your baby.
Infant potty training may have created some controversies but it all boils down to one complete truth. This concept allows mothers, who are looking for ways to explore their child's abilities and develop that communication between them, an option to spend some bonding time with one another.
