This guide will run through the different types of beds to help you decide on which type you would like.
Divan Beds
Divan beds come with a hard top or sprung tops and a mattress designed to give the user the best comfort and support. It is common to find divan beds with storage facilities too. If you go for a double bed it will likely be split in two as it’s easier to transport but also good for getting into your bedroom. If you have a very small entry many retailers can accommodate your circumstances by splitting your base into four pieces.
You can select a headboard to finish off the bed; many offer a selection on wood and metal.
Adjustable Beds
You’ve seen the adverts on TV for the adjustable beds so are probable aware of them. Electronically adjusted into a position you find comfortable and easily manoeuvred. Optional extras include massage units to relieve stress.
Options for Storage
Beds can also provide valuable storage space, fantastic if the bed takes up most of the room! The space can be used for bed linen, duvets, pillows or any other small items.
Bedsteads
Bedsteads are bigger than a divan base however the mattress required is usually a standard size. Add the mattress that provides maximum support for you. Bedsteads usually come in wood or metal and are sold separate. They normally support a mattress on solid timber slats. This is done to allow air to circulate around the mattress. You’ll usually find bedsteads require a fair amount of assembly beware of this if you’re not such a handy person.
Guest Beds
Guest beds are fantastic, take up little space which you can pull out easily when you have someone over to stay. Some slide out of the way under the bed saving valuable space. When pulled out they raise up to the height of a normal bed. You could go for a guest bed that doubles as a chair.
Shop around to find the right bed and a good price. Setting a budget before starting saves money that can be used for decorating other areas of the bedroom.
