Finding out that they are pregnant is a wonderful and exciting time for most women. However once the excitement dies down, the newly expectant mother soon begins to reconsider all aspects of her current activities from the viewpoint of the well-being of her unborn baby. These elements are proteins, minerals, vitamins, carbohydrates, fats and fatty acids. These elements consumed in the right balance, along with plenty of fluids and exercise, will ensure healthy fetal development as well as reduced incidences of constipation, heartburn and nausea for the expectant mother.
As mentioned above, certain fats are essential for fetal development. These are known as high quality or saturated fats and are necessary for vitamin absorption, cell building and hormone production. Excellent sources of these saturated fats are raw dairy, grass-fed meat, coconut oil and coconut milk.
Vitamin A is essential for the healthy development of the lungs, visual system, skull, skeleton, kidneys and brain.
