How to Heighten a Room

As most of us live in an apartment, many families feel oppressed more or less for the reason of an excessively low roof, but you can do something to improve this situation. Furniture with extreme length will help.

A cabinet can be as high as the roof and a sofa and doss can be down to the ground, which can reflect the length of an apartment. Using a "vertical multiple-color curtain", select several color cloths with a large color contrast, tailors them into some vertical bars with 40cm width, and then make them up alternately. This kind of curtain can enhance the slender feeling after hanging it up.

The decorative color of ground should be a little deep and some kind of patterns is better in order to show stateliness and modesty. The painting and calligraphy on the wall should be slender and oil paintings should be exquisite.

A round frame can detract people's attention to the height of wall. Place a multilayer craftwork wood shelf in a free corner of a room and place some craftworks of appropriate size on the shelf, which can help to create a feeling of stability and height. Dividing a large room properly with a tall and big folding screen can also create the feeling of height.

The skill to increase the height of ceiling is to make the ceiling look higher. In addition to the above methods, we can still do that through the painting of ceiling.

Firstly, paint the ceiling with white or a light color to increase the reflection of light and make the room brighter and ceiling look higher.

Secondly, raise the picture moulding to the joint of wall and ceiling, so that it looks the wall and ceiling is connected into one and the ceiling is raised.
Thirdly, make some cam-shaped patterns like picture moulding in the center of ceiling and paint them with natural color or a light color, so that the pattern can not only serve as a decoration but also make people feel the roof is raised.
