How to Make Lollipops - a Recipe

If you want to do something more than the same old thing when you are planning your next party how about making lollipop favors? There are a variety of lollipop molds you can purchase in various different shapes and sizes. You should be able to find fun baby shower theme molds or wedding style molds or even princess party theme lollipop molds. There is really an unlimited number of themes you can create lollipop favors for.

What you will need:

1. Granulated Sugar
2. Light corn Syrup
3. Water
4. Extract flavor of your choice.(Vanilla, mint, cinnamon, coconut, etc)
5.Food coloring
6. Lollipop molds & Sticks
7. Candy thermometer

Lets Make the Lollipops!

1. Prepare your candy molds by spraying them with a nonstick cooking spray and inserting the lollipop sticks into the molds.

2. Combine 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup corn syrup, and 1/4 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium/high heat. Insert the candy thermometer to check the temperature and stir until the sugar dissolves.

3. Allow the candy mixture to boil, without stirring, until it reaches 295 degrees.

4. Now that the candy has reached 295 degrees remove it from the heat. Stir in 3/4 tablespoon of your chosen extract as well as food coloring.(If desired)

5. Spoon the lollipop mixture into the lollipop mold cavities making sure to cover the back of the stick.

6. Once the mixture has COMPLETELY cooled and hardened you can remove the candy from the mold. Now you have your very own home made lollipops.

You can use these sweet confections as party favors or even make them into a stunning centerpiece. I suggest using the longer sticks if you would like to make a party centerpiece. Have fun!
