Pull down attic ladders are an absolute bonus if you are someone looking to utilize that extra roof space in your home. So many people these days are opting to extend on their homes instead of buying somewhere new. This often saves them lots of money because they don't have to spend a lot on buying and selling costs. But what is even better and cheaper than extending is utilizing that unused roof space for another room or two.

Once you have turned your roof space into that extra needed room or rooms you will need easy and safe access to it. This is where pull down attic ladders come into play. A ladder such as this is very compact and strong, either made from fiberglass, metal or wood. There are sliding styles or folding versions depending on what suits your situation. They fold up very neatly and are unobtrusive if fitted correctly. You can even have covers for them.

I personally think that these pull down attic ladders are a fabulous invention. Just about anyone in the family can handle pulling them down and putting them back up. Of course you don't necessarily need to only use them for obtaining extra roof space as many people build houses now with an open loft or balcony that they need to access. These ladders are perfect for that also.

I know lots of people who use lofts in their barns and garages to store away many different things that they do not use regularly. Having this type of ladder is not only convenient and safe but is very space saving in itself when used for this purpose. The other good thing about these ladders is that you can have them installed by a professional or you can buy them in kit form and install them yourself for a much cheaper price.
