Let me explain why.
Just think how many people do you know that live on SS and can not even pay their daily bills? Not only that but most senior citizens can not even pay for their monthly medications with Social Security. The golden years do not seem so golden after all.
I know someone who works for SS and I hear the horror stories all the time, people suffering and struggling to just get by. Most people who do not deserve it get it and those who need SS can’t get it. The whole system is failing the American people.
How did the system get like this? It is falling apart because back in the 1980s when the saving and loan bailout happened the government had to get the money from somewhere.
They borrowed billions of dollars from Social Security fund which to this day has never been put back. The same thing is happening now with the mortgage banks crashing and now we have to borrow money from other countries just to stay afloat.
Something is very wrong. So it is apparent that you can’t depend on our Government for your standard of living. Who would want to live off Government subsidy anyways? Sadly enough plenty of people.
The economic experts are now saying you will need at least a few million dollars to retire comfortably. Not many people in this day and age have that kind of money saved up.
Maybe many years ago a person could work one job and retire with a pension and SS. That does not seen to be the case anymore, because most pensions have been replaced with the 401k so big companies can save more money and make more profits.
So you see if you are in your 30s, 40s or even 50s Social Security may not be there for you and your family. You really need to think about this now and not wait until the last minute. It is far too important.
So the question is how do you make enough money for retirement when your job is not enough?

You’re in Bad Hands With Nanny State

Thomas Jefferson wrote in his autobiography that, “Were we directed from Washington when to sow and when to reap, we should soon want bread." And boy was he ever right on that. Because since the time he wrote those words we have seen what happens when governments dictate to the people how to “sow” and when to “reap”. What’s that? You want a list? Ok, how about any number of the currently floundering European style socialist states, Cuba, North Korea, Iran and the former Soviet Union for starters.
Invasion of the American’ts

Last week a government employee being paid by the taxpayers showed an attitude that has become prevalent in America. Upset at possibly being assigned to Iraq and actually doing his job, State Department employee Jack Croddy became irate. Ranting about the dangers and how he had a family and whining about who would take care of his children if he were killed, Mr. Croddy displayed the prime trait of the American’ts.
Harvesting our Rotten Fruit

For years liberals of all stripes from socialists to communists to all out fascists have been planting seeds in our society. It became clear to them in the early part of this century that America was not quite ready for the revolutions that swept their fellow travelers into power across the globe in places like Russia, Germany, France and Italy. Something about the right of the people to keep and bear arms still being believed in at the time put serious kinks into that plan.

I just watched an amazing, scary and astonishing TV documentary on HBO, "Hacking Democracy." A small group of citizens curious and frustrated by the vote counting and tracking system, headed by a grandmother, asked
the tough question that most public officials should have asked, but were afraid to ask: 'IS YOUR VOTE SAFE?". And..

I am truning 55 this year, I have a previous job where my retirement (20+ years) "could" be given to me on a monthly basis of about $800.00/month.
I currently have a job making about 1/3 of what I used to make. Would you take the money now and invest or wait until age 60 when the retirement benefit would be around $1,100.00 / mo.? Or just wait until

Future mortgage after foreclosure and bankruptcy in FL
By: FloridaRELady | 04-08-2008
I am a single professional middle aged lady in Florida in the midst of a bankruptcy due to two properties being foreclosed on. Had great credit and no credit card debt, but having to face facts and get out of a situation that is just getting worse. I can rent cheaper than own, my income (real estate related) has dropped substantially, and now have bad credit.
I already lost the 1st property (TH didn't sell, auctioned) and the $96,000 cash down payment on my primary (2nd property) and equity of last 3 years has just evaporated. I am upside down with the remaining 80% loan balance higher than the current market value. No buyers and difficult lender so couldn't short sale, tired of fighting the war. I am afraid my years of hard work are totally wiped out by what has happened, and unfortunately all my money was tied up in real estate, that was my retirement. I am broke and have to start all over. Will I be able to get a mortgage in the future? What will be my options if my credit is good after the bankruptcy? Any advice?
