Why woman is weak ?
Dalip Singh Wasan, Advocate.
A woman may be physically weak, but the main cause of her weakness lies in disunity amongst women. Two and more woman are not in a position to live together, to work together and to form an association and then have unity amongst each other. That is the main cause of her weakness and they know the cause of their weakness. But in spite of this knowledge and this information with them, they are not in a position to remove this weakness to come over this weakness.
We may start from the house. We all know that since the introduction of this marriage system, a woman could not tolerate another woman coming to the house. It is on record that the mother in law herself chooses a bride for her son and she goes to the house of the bride to take her with all pump and show, but once this bride comes to the house, the same mother in law starts fighting with that innocent bride and creates such situations for her that in spite of all her hopes with which she had come to this house, she wants to leave the house and go back to the house of her parents from where she had been brought to this new house. The mother in law knows that this new girl who has been brought to the house does not like all adverse comments on her parents and on her work and conduct, but still this mother in law feels that she has got all the rights and privileges to shout at her daughter in law and show her strength and authority in the house. Thus these two women in the house are the main cause of all breaks in the joint family system which had been traditionally adopted in India.
In due course this new bride feels that all other women who are already present in the house are not taking her entry easily. The sisters of her husband are feeling that this new woman is taking away their brother from them. And therefore, they shall be finding occasions when they could make a complaint before their brother and that too against the new bride. They shall try to fill the ears of their brother and they shall be happy to see that their brother is listening to them and after hearing all the complaints, he is shouting at his wife. These girls in the house would never like that the bride who has been brought in the house should take the place which they had been occupying in the house. and thus this war continues even when a daughter is married and is living in another house. As and when she comes to visit the house she would like that the bride must serve her like a domestic servant. And if her husband dies or she is ousted otherwise from the house of her in laws, she would be coming back to the parental house and shall like that her positions should be maintained and that is the reason the houses where such shunted out ladies are maintained, the house would not be maintaining unity and these house are sure to break. Similar is the position when the sister of the father of the house comes to the house of her brother and she would try to make hell for all present in the house.
We have noted that at work places, when there all women, they would not unite, but they would be fighting amongst each other and comparatively the women who are working in mixed colleagues, they are not fighting and they are considered as most lovely members in the band. That is the reason, present of men is most necessary for women and they should not be left all alone with other women. All those institutions are functioning well where the workers are mixed and where only women are deployed, they shall remain fighting amongst each other and the efficiency of the institute shall suffer. The managers who want efficiency in the institute, they try to have mixed staff because they know that if only women are deployed in the institute, most of the time of the administration shall be wasted in listening to the complaints of each other and solving those complaints. The women would not tolerate even the women bosses because they are not psychologically fit persons to tolerate that a woman is heading them.
Since the women are not united, this man could avail of this opportunity and this man could develop this man-rules society where woman has been allotted the second position. The woman shall not rise and take the place of man because they are not united. First of all the women must learn the art of living together and they must start from the house. But as per present situations, there are no chances of reconciliation in the house. The mother in law would never take her daughter in law as her own daughter and the daughter in law would never become real daughter and similarly the sisters of the husband would never allow a peaceful life to the wife of their brother. Some miracle may happen when all these relations could start improving in the house. The present situations are not showing any indication that these relations shall better so the woman shall suffer disunity and that shall cause all weaknesses in her and she would never be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with her husband and in the society of these men.
