Fear and Faith

One of the most difficult, if not the most difficult things to do in life is to have faith; more poignantly is faith in ourselves.  What we tend to do is make excuses for all the reasons why we do things or don’t do things.

We have this home based business and the one thing that holds us back the most, is fear of failure.  A large part of our fear starts from the fact that we have pounded our warm market and we want to prove them wrong, but that’s getting a little off topic.  What I would like to focus on hear is the fear we have that causes inactivity or wrong activity and thus failure in our business.  Then discuss how faith is the key to our success in our home based business.

Let’s talk about fear.  Fear is an acronym for False Expectation Appearing Real.  Ever think of it in those terms?  Well it’s true most things that we fear are indeed false.  What is your biggest fear in your home based business.

Fear that we will not succeed and our friends and family will be right, could certainly be one.  Fear of taking a leadership position and being on stage could be another.  How about the success itself, maybe we really can’t see ourselves successful and thus have a fear of it.

Whatever the fear or fears are, it is up to you to work them out to gain success.  Here is the trick, identify your fear and then reverse it to a faith. Napoleon Hill said that “Faith is Fear in Reverse”, so how would our fears look now.

In our home based business let’s take the example of fear of success.  What if we start talking in terms of faith of success?  Do we know successful people?  Are they teaching us tried and true methods for success?  Maybe the biggest question is can you do everything necessary to be successful in your home based business.  The answer to all of these is obviously, yes.

If we have the faith in ourselves that we can indeed be successful in our home based business, we without doubt can.  It is when fear enters into the equation that we tend to fall short and make excuses to not believe in our faith that we falter.

I have found that in my life a tiny seed of faith is far more enriching and rewarding than fear.  Fear tends to create inactivity and stagnation.  Faith opens doors of opportunity and success.  Taking a simple leap of faith is what can turn your life around.

Think about anything that you have truly accomplished, whether it be a task, a relationship or even your home based business.  Take a look back and see; ask yourself what was the fear that I had to overcome for that success, and at some point in that process you turned your fear into a faith.

I was just ice skating the other day with my daughter and was telling her the story of when I learned to skate.  She is only four so she may not have comprehended but my advice to her was this, as soon as you realize that you are going to fall in learning to skate, and drop the fear that it will cause major damage, you will indeed learn to skate. 

It is that exact process that we need to understand for our home based business.  Sure not every day is going to be great, not every meeting is going to culture new people but those are only bumps and bruises along the way to success.

Let’s be honest folks if owning a home based business were easy, then everyone would do it.  But if we have faith and go out on those limbs of life and struggle a bit and then see it through till the end, our home based business will indeed be successful.

Turn those fears into faith; don’t let anyone or anything stand in the way of your dreams.
