Honesty - even more lonely now days

It is sad to me that our world has turned so dishonest and untrusting these days.  Maybe that’s what happens to your perception as you get older and wiser but it really makes it difficult on those of us who are honest and trustworthy.

Now I am not saying by any means that I am perfect and never make a mistake.  But what I am saying is that a handshake agreement used to mean something, but not much any more.

A lot of people working a home based business, work what is commonly called an mlm or multi-level marketing program, also known as network marketing.  When you first approach many people some of them say;” Oh that’s a pyramid scheme” or “there is something illegal about it”, in today’s world nothing could be further from the truth.

Large network marketing companies like Amway, Monavie and A.C.N. have major names and corporations attached to them, legal departments and most of all high quality products.  What bothers me is that people assume that you are being dishonest if you approach them with the idea and tell you that you’re breaking the law.

Now I will be the first to tell you that our world also has a lot of dishonest people out there, with a lot of programs that deliver nothing close to what they say they will.  I also understand that people are skeptical of everything and well they should be.

So how does a person separate themselves between the honest and not honest folks?  In any walk of life it can be tough, but in a network marketing business it can be really tough.  My advice would be to approach people with what can be viewed as the least skeptical part of the program, the product or service you are offering.

Most if not all of the network marketing companies tell you to market/sell the opportunity.  Why not lead with the product, introduce a great product or service and let them make a buying decision based on just trying something new, not opening up a business for themselves.

There is not a network marketing company in the world that pays you a major income based on signing people up; they pay on people using their products.  You start to grow a business by having satisfied customers, not people buying into a dream.

Take a look at the products; everything from underwear to electric can be purchased through a network marketing or multi-level marketing company.  Amway has some of the best laundry detergent and cleaning supplies you will ever find, among thousands of household items, A.C.N. takes care of telecommunications and Monavie has an antioxidant drink that would help anyone get their daily supply of nutrition and that’s just to name a few.

There are literally hundreds of network marketing companies in the world, unfortunately the world is so skeptical that a lot of people try to make a go of the opportunity and fail because of the lack of trust and integrity engrained in our society. 

My hope is that every network or multi-level marketer out there gets hold of this article and changes their approach so that the success rate will climb for each and every one out there making a go of what used to be and still should be the “American Dream”, owning your own business and treating people with respect, honesty and integrity.
