Wow. The internet is amazing, isn’t it? It provides you the ability to reach out and offer your product or your services to over a billion people with just a few computer key strokes and maybe a few bucks spent on technology or advertising. Incredible!
So, how do you start a home based business using the internet? I’m going to try to show you how with a series of articles that I will be publishing over the next several months. I’ll also be letting you in on a home based business opportunity that may change your life, just as it did mine.
I know there is a lot of hype on the internet about home based business opportunities. I spent a ton of time, and a ton of money, sifting thru the online offers that I’d find after searching ‘Internet Based Home Business’ on Google. I couldn’t believe the number of “opportunities” there were!
Since I was just a beginner getting into this world of online direct sales, I spent a lot of time looking at the big picture, and very quickly I realized that there were fundamental similarities to all of the home based internet business:
- You need to have a unique or valuable product or service that you are selling.
- You have to have an online presence so you need a website or a blog, or preferably both.
- You need to generate or attract and drive visitors to your website or blog.
- You need to make a compelling offer to your site visitors when they reach your site so they will take action.
- You need a “sales funnel” which is basically a process which takes the visitor from a lead to a buyer.
These are the five components that are essential, and fundamental, to nearly all internet based or online businesses. You really can’t be successful marketing online if one of these components is missing. I soon realized that I had to master these fundamental skills in order to be a successful internet business person, and make the kind of income that would afford me the opportunity to work from home. I knew I could master the skill sets necessary to build a successful, productive, legitimate at home business.
