Millions of people dream of starting a home based business. One thing most fail to realize is that a business is always more work than it looks like. It’s a good idea to research any home based business thoroughly before committing your time, energy and money to it.
Most people have a "try out" approach when they first begin a home business. This approach relieves a lot of the pressure involved in running a business. However, it is all too easy to turn a fledgeling home business into an expensive hobby. Remember the point of your own home based business is to provide money and freedom. If you don't have children and don't like children, a children's birthday planning business is probably not for you. If you don't enjoy your home based business it will become just another job.
One of the biggest advantages of running your business from home is "The fact that you work when and how you need to, WITHOUT leaving your house", which is great for parents or disabled people.
Something to consider before starting your home business is that for the first year or more you will probably be working longer hours than you do now in your day job. Profits take one year minimum to materialize, maybe more. If profits flood in the first day you are one of a very rare, very lucky few.

Your home based business can be a rewarding experience in more ways than just financially, but money should be the point of any business.
