If the reader is interested in obtaining more information they will click on your link. This will also help to increase the traffic to your website because of the links you are creating that point back to you. Also, add fresh content frequently such as articles or just some personal notes you would like to share with others about your experiences.
However, the blog itself can be used as your business website. There are people who use a blog to generate income and do not own another website. Instead they use information contained in their blog posts to promote affiliate programs and Google Adsense.
