MLM Success Strategy #2 - Responsibility

One of the most common questions that people ask successful leaders in network marketing is: "What do I have to do to have the kind of success you're having?" People new to network marketing often believe that the answer would be more technically based when in reality persistence above all is the common answer. Being successful in network marketing is about taking responsibility for your life and for your business.

Responsibility is simply the ability to respond to the challenges that you're given. It's easy to assume that successful person had it easy that everything came without a price but nothing could be farther from the truth because success only comes through commitment self-sacrifice and persistence even when all hope is absent. Very prominent network marketer once said that "to be successful requires mind over mattress". The lure of being in business for yourself is attractive when we talk about being able to work around our own schedule and being at home with our family. The reality however is that if you don't work your business on a consistent basis you have absolutely no hope for success. You don't get paid to show up you only get paid when your marketing efforts are successful.

Often people are enticed into my home based business and given the impression that they'll be successful almost immediately. When that doesn't happen they get discouraged and quit before they've had a chance to experience success. It's interesting to note that most people would feel very comfortable [provided they have the money] spending several thousand dollars on a trip to Hawaii but would struggle with the notion of spending $500 to get started in a home based business. Oddly enough owning a successful network marketing business can afford you the option of living anywhere in the world very comfortably.

It's important that we educate new distributors about the significance of having an operating budget and the proper marketing tools to be effective in the marketplace. Risking money in a business can be more stress provoking than going to Vegas for a weekend. The awesome thing about being in business though is that while there is a risk there is also a very high reward for success.
