Make sure the sign up fee (if there is one) isn't too much. Companies do need to protect themselves so they can't just go away giving out start-up packages to anyone and everyone for no cost so a start up fee is justifiable. But, make sure that those fees aren't too high just to get more information about a company. Probably anything more than $100 is too much.
Go with your gut, if it seems to good to be true it probably is. Be realistic. You are not going to make millions of dollars overnight. Starting a home based business takes a lot of time and patience. You need to set aside time to put into your business and be consistent. If you treat your business like a hobby you will see the returns of a hobby. If you treat it like a business you will see success.
