One of the first things that people forget is that network marketing is about building relationships. It is about selling yourself and not necessarily worrying about what product your network marketing company is selling.
The big problem
Even though network marketing is about marketing yourself and relationships the problems lies in the training that most companies are providing to their distributors. The majority of the training never mentions that you should be trying to build yourself before your business. If you have been a victim of this cruelty or are still in a network marketing company this might sound familiar.
Your upline will tell you to make a list of your family, friends or even coworkers and anyone else you think could 'do' the business. They tell you to buy leads, cold call, hold house meetings, use calling scripts, use the three foot rule, post flyers, send out info packs and the list goes on and on. In between all of this madness you are getting further and further from your goal which is to actually make some money.
Now let's talk about some tips that will ensure you do make some sales and recruit new distributors into your company.
1. Follow someone who is already having the success you want
Locate someone on on the internet, in your organization or someone who knows what they are doing. Emulate them and follow their recommendations.
2. Purchase some training
This includes eBooks, courses and attending seminars. None of us are born recruiters, salesman or marketers so there are some skill sets you will need to learn.
3. Master each skill set one at a time
As a network marketer the skill sets you will have to learn are lead generation, marketing, recruiting, selling and following up with your prospects. Take one at a time and master it. Then when you feel you are fluent with that particular skill set, move on to the next.
4. Form partnerships
It is much easier to accomplish something with the help of another person with the same goal in mind. This is where joint ventures and partnerships come in. You can find another distributor on your team, or find someone outside of the organization to collaborate with.
5. Grow yourself
The great thing about network marketing is that it causes you to become a person whom you never thought you could be. Constantly improve yourself with training, your thought patterns and your daily activities.
6. Practice money making habits
You have 24 hours in a day just like everybody else. What are you doing during those 24 hours to make money and grow your business. Figure out which activities get you the most results towards your goals and stick with them. Create a routine and follow it everyday.
7. Keep a sound diet and exercise regime
When you are healthy you have more energy. With more energy you have a more productive work output and do significantly better with each daily task. Remain consistent with your eating habits as well as exercises.
8. Treat your business like a business
This means do not treat your business like a hobby. Remain focused. Concentrate on what needs to get done and keep accurate records. Form a legal business entity to protect you and your assets.
9. Think outside of the box
There are millions of network marketers worldwide who are doing a lot of the same things. Brainstorm with your partners and find new ways of selling product and getting people into your organization. Get creative with your advertising and marketing. Combine both free and paid forms of advertising. The possibilities are endless.
These tips should help you with your network marketing business. Follow each of them and you will be guaranteed to have more success and continue to grow. If you are just starting out it will take some time. Just remain patient and stay motivated. Doing just a little bit more than everybody else will boost your results and profit.
