"I realized that the first step in selecting a home based business was in determining if I really wanted to do it...if I wanted to really try to succeed and not be an arm-chair quarterback". Says Bellina, "I find that this is probably one of the hardest hurdles to cross...making the decision and the commitment to actually succeed. So many times, we let a burst of emotion dictate a path, and we end up right where we started...so my first tip is to make up your mind to succeed and set a solid foundation for success. "Your second step is to leave emotion at the door! In other words, keep in mind that many companies spend millions of dollars to convince you that their business is the best choice for you. DON'T FALL FOR IT!! If a company cannot back it's financial claims, show you realistic and verifiable earnings projections, or take the time to answer all of your concerns, don't part with your money. Keep looking. 
You also want to consider that starting a business requires additional expenses of advertising and other business building techniques. Never fall for the sales pitch that suggests that all you need to do is part with your initial investment. There are on-going advertising and business expenses that you must figure into your budget."
